‘Vingt Regards sur l’ Enfant-Jésus’ (Twenty Visions on the Infant Jesus) is a work by french composer Olivier Messiaen, composed in Paris, between March and September 1944, during the city's liberation. The work carries the symbolic significance of that date, but also marks the composer's own liberation from a prisorer-of-war camp.

The visual and textual synthesis of my work respond with matching my word with each of the composer's own, and matching an image with each ‘Regard’. Projected images and texts are superimposed all through the concert, following their own inner rhythm with non-regular appearances. Twenty Images aim to create a new visual and mental space, elliptical and enigmatic, and to challenge the religious and mystical feeling reflected in the titles and in the unique musical style of Messiaens’ movements.
